This project visualizes germanies cultural sectors cinema, museum, lending libraries and theatres. You can see the visits per citizen. The treemap below is based on the 2009 values. The trend from the year 2000 on is indicated by the white lines. Moving a mouse over a german state highlights it in all of the cultural sectors, to make it comparable. Additional information about it is showing up on the right hand. This makes it possible for example to compare existing cinema screens to actual visits.
.
The data can be found at the german federal statistical office This visualization is my attempt to the german challenge Apps4Germany where one is invited to visualize public german data. It would not have been possible to code and publish it without Processing. See the orignal german version over here.
